Water!

So we have had a few weeks of sub zero temps, so yesterday it started warming up, this morning we woke up to water in our kitchen! It is now 41 degrees (above zero) and our ice dam on the back side of our roof is melting and leaking through the roof into the kitchen. So Scott woke up to water on the kitchen floor. He has gone up on the roof to shovel the snow off and he was told by a roof contractor to spread some ice melt up there to help the ice dam melt so we can get some water flowing off the roof instead of staying stagnant.

The weather is so bad here that both Scott and I were called NOT to come in to work today. The roads are pure ice, accidents everywhere. All the schools are cancelled in the Anchorage area as well as the surrounding areas as far as an hour away. It doesn't look like it is going to get better anytime soon. We are supposed to get rain this afternoon which will not help the ice situation.

So we are all home today all snug in our 'houseboat'. Hello to everyone and hope to hear from you!
