Hitting the Road

Well, we are taking the plunge. We are hitting the road saturday the 31st of October! Yes it's scary, we are travelling the Alaska Highway with a toddler and a cat. I have recieved lots of advice via my facebook page and duct tape pretty much sums up how the trip will be going. LOL. Thanks Aunt Amy!

We plan on the trip taking between 11-15 days. We are going to stop and visit aunt Melody and uncle Shane and the boys in Nevada. We hope to stop in Mesquite, NV to visit family there as well. We will keep you all posted on our adventure and will hopefully contact some of you along the way.

The house has not sold yet, but we are ready to be out of limbo, so we are heading to Austin, TX to stay with Scott's dad until the house does sell. We will be getting jobs in Austin for now. We are both excited to finally get on with life. We are sad to leave friends and family in Alaska but welcome the idea of meeting new people in Texas.

John is getting so big. He is such a fun little guy. He has started playing with Scott's shoes. He puts one on his foot and carries the other one in his hand, he has a hard time walking with both of them on his feet, but he can handle one. It is funny to watch him try to figure it out. He is also starting to throw fits. He thrashes his hands around in a karote type way and kicks his legs around. Scott laughs at him until I throw a eye darts at him, then he just laughs under his breath. Yes we are in the toddler stage...ugh. He is still fun to watch.

Scott sold his truck on craigs list, so we are a one car family now. We drop John off at daycare in the morning and then go to work, then I pick up Scott from work and then we head to daycare, we race out of the car to see who can get to John first. He is changing everyday, and is doing something new all the time. It is such a blessing being a parent to such a wonderful little boy!

More later...

  3. Good luck with the drive! You might need it ;) it's a very long and boring drive, but very pretty in some parts. Hopefully you won't have any adventures like we did!
