Day 1 Anchorage, AK --> Tok, AK

We hit the road at 10:25 am; it was a beautiful day for driving. John and the cat were snug in their seats ready for a long winter drive. 319 miles to Tok no problem… the further we drove on the Glenn Allen highway the windier it became, we took a picture of the windstorm when we were just past Sutton. The mountain ranges were beautiful. We drove past St. Wrangle Range as well as the Alaska Range; it was too cloudy to see Mt McKinley. We arrived in Tok at 4:30 and found that the Burnt Paw Cabins were a very nice place to stay. We had dinner at Fast Eddy’s Restaurant then went back to our cabin to turn in for the night. The cat seems to be weathering the trip well. She ate and pooped once we let her in the cabin and then she took turns sleeping with Scott or me throughout the night. John slept through the night and decided that 5:30 am was morning time for everyone. We woke up to 12 degrees and cloudy, the roads were just starting to get a bit snowy when we pulled into Tok, we are expecting more of the same for day 2.
